This summer 2020, long-time BRIDGE youth leader Jessica Hampton wanted you to meet her friends at Solstice Icelandics Farm. Join us for 3 virtual barn sessions to meet Beth, Ester and the Icelandic horses. For this first lesson, notice the diversity of the Icelandics in their fur and face markings. Also did you know Icelandic horses are smaller than regular horses?
In virtual session 2 with Jessica, Beth and Esther at the Solstice Icelandics Farm, we will watch some short clips of ground work that is done to develop relationship and communication skills with the Icelandic from greeting them with brushing, guiding their movements with clear communication and body language, and learning what it is like for the to wear masks just like we have to do in COVID-19. See what you think of the different masks? And notice we always give them a healthy snack to show one of our character strengths, Gratitude! Enjoy! In our last virtual session at Solstice Icelandics, we wanted to show you a few clips of equine therapy pre-COVID-19 times and also demonstrate some of the mindfulness and yoga in the barn that we do safely with social distance. Our Icelandics help us with communication, gratitude and mindfulness! Thank you for joining Jess, Beth and Esther with our Icelandic buddies!
