April 16th-19th and May 21st-24th Tentative Location: Hilton Garden Inn Alternate Location: Zoom with BRIDGE Here at BRIDGE we want to take this opportunity to remind you know that our train-the-trainer program is launching its pilot in April. This training was designed with our long- standing clients, current BRIDGE partners and, most specifically, our BRIDGE members in mind. As a current Impact or Changemaker Circle member you are invited to send two non-senior team staff to attend at no additional tuition cost. We strongly encourage sending staff that plan to take a leadership role in your organization's equity, cultural competency, inclusion and diversity work.
We are planning on launching in person if possible but if not we will be broadcasting and recording the session for accessibility. The program will run for 20 hrs in April and 20 hrs in May. All interested parties in taking our Cultural Competence Foundations core training programs are welcome to join us in April. Please find the links here to register: IDEA Institute: Cultural Competence Foundations Community (Track 1) Course: runs April 17-19th (20 hrs.) while the pilot train-the-trainer (below) is for BRIDGE staff, volunteers and our business members of the Impact and Changemaker Circles as we build capacity in our networks! That IDEA Institute: Train-the-Trainer (Track 2) Course runs for 40 hrs: the dates are April 16-19th and May 21-24th. Track 2 starts on Thursday evening. Please email [email protected] for inquiries. To subscribe to our newsletter, please follow the link here as we will be launching our digital business platform over the next few weeks for our broad range of programming. BRIDGE services are available to you over Zoom, free conference call and Google Meet. Please be in touch because we are here to help with consults, coaching, video chats along with our training/education programs. We are working (just differently!) Already we have had convenings, trainings and 1:1s remotely and will continue to build capacity to meet the requirements of social distancing. Be well! The Train-the-Trainer Program is designed to provide BRIDGE frameworks and curriculum to a core group of professionals committed to stewardship and leadership of equity, inclusion, and cultural competence at their workplace. The first weekend (Track 1) provides a full day session in Cultural Competence; a second day looking at systemic barriers around class, gender and race. And on the third day exploring hot topics in a workshop format. This will be an opportunity for train-the-trainers to participate in BRIDGE programming and make observations to support their future training. Over the month in between, Track 2 registrants will have homework back at their workplace so the second weekend in May is focusing on designing a customized cultural competence program for their workplace with peer and BRIDGE feedback on delivery. Throughout this process, we will explore scenarios and go deeper in to the frameworks behind BRIDGE’s award-winning approach. BRIDGE’s curriculum provides workplaces and organizations with the tools to move forward. Following there will be demonstrations, observations & feedback along with future modules on specific topics. Networking time will be built in throughout the weekend in person or over Zoom Breakout Rooms remotely. As many of you have noted, we have postponed most large convenings that we have been a part of as host, co-host or have organized. Most near future meetings we will be conducting remotely at BRIDGE per Massachusetts and Berkshire public health guidelines.
Shortly, our trainings will be available remotely accompanied by video chats and webinars. Next week, I will do my fourth Twitter Chat on having an equity and privilege analysis on COVID-19 as we take care of ourselves, our families and each other in community. Stay tuned for more opportunities to engage with BRIDGE. We are continuing with the ACLU - MA and community leaders convening over Zoom on Tuesday for the program What A Difference A DA makes. (March 17th!) Also we plan to move ahead with future programming as much as we can thinking about access for our stakeholders. IDEA Institute launches at BRIDGE. (Thanks to support of Moonlight Mile Family Fund and our Moonlight Mile Circle along with the pending Lennox Foundation support, we are finally here!)
