Developing Cultural Competence and Combating Microaggressions in the Workplace

In this workshop, we aim to increase organizational cultural competence to ensure a positive work environment. We begin with discussions around diversity, culture, prejudice, internal biases, and stereotyping. Next, we explore cultural clashes and barriers and lay out strategies for identifying and combating microaggressions, such as micro-affirmations. Finally, we look at the benefits of cultural competence in the workplace, including increased employee happiness and productivity.

In this workshop, we delve into the topic of diversity. We explore the meaning of diversity, as well as how it contributes to culture. We look at how a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity can increase staff retention.

Cultural and Linguistic Competency in Management and Public Relations,

In this workshop, we begin to discuss the links between language and culture. We explore what it means to be culturally and linguistically competent. We discuss how developing cultural and linguistic competency can increase effectiveness in management and public relations. 

Building a Representative Organization: 
Diversity in Board Recruitment

In this workshop, we explore the development of a diverse board. We begin by discussing the importance of having a diverse board which is representative of your community. Next, we lay out strategies for ensuring diversity in board recruitment.



Gwendolyn, Multicultural BRIDGE CEO, has served on the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce Board for several years and offers this workshop series for those who want a refresher on cultural competence in the workplace to those who need to begin these conversations back in their workplace. We also invite those professionals intrigued by leading this work in our County!
